By-laws

Governing Policy

a. The name ‘Academy of Human Completion’ is to be used herein; to be referred to as the Academy
b. The purpose is to foster research activities, educational advancements as well as sharing of knowledge related to the human completion among the members.
c. The main offices reside within Korea; international branch offices available overseas. Contact information may change at convenience of the Academy.

Business

a. To accomplish the aforementioned purpose, we will do the following:
1. encouraging educational research activities and presentations;
2. publishing of journal and newsletters;
3. collecting and publishing of related materials and resources;
4. developing strategies and implementation for curriculum of Human Completion; and
5. achieving any additional activities needed
b. Conferences on Human Completion will be offered twice a year
c. Journal of Human Completion will be published once a year

Members

Types and qualifications of members

1. With the approval of Board of Directors, the Academy will have the following types of members: full, associate, honorary and organizations/groups
2. Full members are educators and professionals who have completed the approved curriculum of Human Completion
3. Associate members are who are in the process of completing the approved curriculum of Human Completion
4. Honorary members are anyone who are interested in the curriculum of Human Completion
5. Organizations/groups: any interested organizations, libraries or groups.

Rights and duties of members

1. Full members upon paying of membership fee, are eligible to vote and submit abstracts of papers or dissertations
2. Associate and honorary members can attend conferences but are unable to vote
3. Organizations/groups must submit membership fees and will be able to receive journals and other publishing materials from the Academy

Disqualification of members

1. Disqualification of members can occur when the member conducted in behavior opposing the purpose of the Academy
2. If a member did not pay the membership fee for three years, the member can be disqualified through such decision of the Board. Once the fees are submitted in full, the membership can be reinstated

Officers

Type of officers

1. The Academy will have President, Vice President, Directors, Inspectors and Councils ( in addition, a number of assistants to directors as needed)
2. Directors will be one person per given department or field with consultants as necessary

Election of officers and duration of service

1. President and Inspectors will serve 2 years and may be re-elected. Interim officers will hold office until the next election. Council member selection is to be approved by President and the Board.
2. Vice President and the Board of Directors will be selected by the President to be approved by all members and they are to serve one year and may be re-elected.

Duties of officers

1. President will head the Academy and supervise the administration
2. Vice President will assist the President and serve as interim if needed
3. Executive Director (Secretary) will be responsible for the Academy’s administration
4. Director of Education will be responsible for the Academy’s conferences
5. Editorial Director will be responsible for the publishing literatures of the Academy
6. Director of Business will be responsible for acquiring funding and managing relationships
7. Director of Public Relations will be responsible for promotion of the Academy
8. Treasurer will be responsible for managing finances of the Academy
9. Director of Foreign Affairs will be responsible for managing international relationships
10. Inspectors will inspect and report the account summaries to the Academy
11. Council members will assist the President as needed

Meetings of the Academy

Purpose of meetings

Communicating agenda related to changes to the members, the policy, financing reports and etc.

Meetings: Periodic and Temporary

Periodically the meeting will meet annually and temporary meetings will ensue when the President or 1/3 of members request such meetings

The Board of Directors’ meetings

The Board of Directors’ meetings are composed of the President, Vice President, and Directors; the President will preside over such meetings
1. The President will request Board of Directors’ meetings as needed
2. The Board of Directors will plan and act upon the required duties of each positions

The Board of Directors

1. Each Directors may have up to 10 additional members to execute the required duties
2. Each Directors may call for own meetings and preside over such meetings

Editorial Board

The following is the Board’s organization and duties,
1. Editorial Board will include the Editorial Director and up to 9 members on the Board
2. Editorial Director may call for own meetings as necessary
3. Editorial Board will collect, select and edit any materials or resources necessary for publishing
4. Editorial Board will execute any decision related to publishing of journal and if needed, may add more members
5. Editorial Board will select and edit submissions fairly as per editorial policy of the Academy

Treasurer

Treasurer

The Academy will be funded by membership fees, donations and other sources of funding
1. There is an annual membership fee for each member
2. The Board of Directors will decide on the amount of membership fee

Fiscal year

from January 1 to December 31 is one fiscal year

Addendum

This by-law will be initiated from November 8, 2008
